Meet Kayley Lantrip, Marketing Coordinator

Employee Spotlight: Meet Kayley Lantrip, Marketing Coordinator

What do you do here at The 20?

I’m the Marketing Coordinator. I’m in charge of various things for the company both internally and externally. Internally, I handle our monthly birthday celebrations, monthly happy hours, quarterly company outings, and any holiday celebrations. Externally, I coordinate our monthly Propel meetings, our Quarterly meetings, any conferences we attend, and our yearly VISION Conference!

Describe The 20 in three words…

Fun, growing, innovative.

As a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?

An actress. I guess that’s what happens when you’re put in theater camps at the age of 4. These days I just do accents around the office.

What’s the most challenging thing about your job?

I am a natural born people pleaser, and so when I’m planning something fun for a hundred people, you are always going to have someone that would have rather done something else. So, trying to make everyone happy all the time is definitely a challenge.

What do you consider your greatest achievement?

VISION ’19 — hands down! I got to work on that event for a full year and I often would refer to it as “my baby.” I think of an event like VISION as one giant puzzle and it’s so fulfilling to see all of the pieces come together. By the time it was over, me and the team were all so overwhelmed with positive feedback that all of the stress and time we put into it was so worth it. I can’t wait to get the ball rolling on VISION ’20!

What do you think is the most important quality necessary for success?

Open-mindedness. You need to be ready to accept criticism. When someone has a suggestion for how you could adjust something, it doesn’t mean they are attacking you personally — they’re simply trying to make what you’re doing better and helping you grow.

What do you like most about The 20?

The people. More specifically, my department. I love that we can just banter with each other so easily and every person brings something special to the table. I honestly don’t think I would be able to do my job without them and their support.

What do you like to do in your spare time? / What are your hobbies?

My favorite thing to do is read. I am currently working through the classics. I just finished Wuthering Heights and am now on to To Kill a Mockingbird.

Where are you going on your next vacation?

Girls trip to Thailand!

What’s your top life hack?

I am not sure if this is a hack, but I am a firm believer that being nice to customer service people will always get you farther! More bees with honey and all that.
